I think this was a very lively debate. Actually every body seemed to bring a good game. However over all Mitt Romney was the one that looked most Presidential and handled things extremely well. Santorum and Gingrich went after each other some and that bodes well for Mitt Romney to have the, what many perceive as, the conservative choices. Actually I think Romney is more conservative than most think and Santorum though one of the most conservative contenders, isn't as conservative as he makes out to be. But that is another issue altogether.
I thought some of Mitt Romney's lines were great. I loved when he pointed out to Newt that Newt keeps saying how he worked with Reagan when Newt was a young representative. Yet when you read the Reagan diary he only mentions Newt once and that was just to say a young U.S. Representative Newt had an idea but it wasn't a very good one. He also responded to Newt when Newt was saying it is his bills that helped Romney be successful by creating the proper environment. What his response was it that he was in business for 25 years and Newt was House Speaker only a few years and that Newt can't take credit for all those 25 years.
I also enjoyed the joke about what when he was asked what he would do differently if he were to start the campaign all over again, that he would look for 25 more votes in Iowa, alluding to the new results of the recount they did today in Iowa where Romney placed 2nd to Santorum this time around. Yet 8 districts results disappeared so they don't know you really won.
He had many strong yet in control statements about free enterprise and other issues. He said he found it surprising that he has to defend capitalism and freedom on that stage among Republican candidates. Click Here for statements on free enterprise.
